The iPad Pro 2, or 9.7 inch model, has been released and users can expect a faster, more productive experience, among other upgrades. The new model features a 12-megapixel iSight camera on the back, in contrast to the 8-megapixel standard on the 12.9 inch version. The front-facing camera has also improved, sporting a 5-megapixel selfie-cam, whereas the larger Pro is only equipped with 1.2-mp photo-capture technology. Both come with 720p video capability with the front camera, whereas the 9.7 inch has 4K capable video recording with the iSight, compared to the 1080p capable 12.9 inch Pro. Both are great in this regard compared to other popular tablets, but the new version offers a smaller package for those interested in productivity on-the-go.
The new 9.7 inch iPad Pro should especially appeal to pilots, as it will easily fit in most compact flight bags. We highly recommend this model in at least the 128 gigabyte version if you’re planning to use it for more than just in the cockpit. Flight maps, apps, and other related materials tend to take up a lot of space, and you don’t want to then not have enough for your personal pictures and videos of family and friends; you’ll need these on those long trips away from home!
Users may choose from 4 colorways: Gold, Rose Gold, Silver, and Space Grey (the latter is the only model with a black background on the front, the others have the iconic white front-face).
And 3 WiFi models and WiFi/cellular models respectively: 32 GB, 128 GB, and the new 256 GB
Of course you can also choose between the 12.9 inch and the 9.7 model, but keep in mind, the latter has a newer faster chip in the A9X, as well as a thinner frame and a lighter weight. All 9.7 inch versions come in under a pound, and all 12.9 inch ones are just over one and a half.
